I always aim first. Always. Usually for about 5 minutes. And the opportunity is missed.
I’m working on getting out of that shell. I have to. Early retirement beckons. Financial independence. Leaving the rat race. Spending time with my wife and kids. Traveling. Living abroad.
So I decided to Fire first. Start a blog about my journey. Yeah, I know I’m another one in about a million early retirement blogs. But I plan on addressing some topics I haven’t seen addressed elsewhere, and to share my musings on my slightly mixed up journey to early retirement.
There’s a bunch to talk about – not the least of which is my not so wonderful financial mistakes of the past – bankruptcy, diarrhea of the wallet, bad investment decisions – you name it. About getting out of mindsets that limit income potential. About ignoring the naysayers. About what we are doing now to secure our future.
I’m not perfect. We have a long ways to go, but we’ve come a long way, too.
I plan on retiring in 6 years, at age 45. Let’s see if we can do this.
Give us your two cents!
